Just bought this little glittery gem today and I'm so impressed. It's a 4 track recorder each with 8 virtual tracks for multiple takes or mixdown's (32 tracks total), drum machine...tons of vocal/guitar effects (good)...and super tiny.

There's a free Roland program you can download which will pull all the tracks off the MICRO BR onto your PC as WAV files...including virtual tracks...so 32 total possible. This gives you lots of versatility re-using those later in PC DAW app in case you want to playback more than 4 at a time.

You can find it here:

And a great general info/support site:

So here's my first recording I put together tonite with just my crappy rusty-5-string electric guitar I hauled out of the closet using all four audio tracks plus the drum track. Stumbled across this drum pattern which sounded familiar when slowed down to half the default speed...it's only a minute long cuz i haven't figured out how to make arrangements...this beat arrangement is exactly how it played out of the box and I just played around it.

And I didn't do any post processing..all mixed and mastered within this little miracle.

The annoying chirping is my camera's focus motor...not the BOSS!

  • music sounds great! but what was that irritating clicking in the background?

  • sorry...that's my stupid camera in macro mode. I just watched it now and your right, it is extremely irritating! I should really redo the video with that removed somehow.

  • can you hear other tracks while your playing? as in if you lay down a bass track and then do a guitar track can you hear the bass track?

  • yup---it's just like you're standard 4-track recorder...but the cool thing you have 32 virtual tracks (8 per track) which you can toggle between to listen and eventually mix down. And you can dump all 32 tracks in sync back onto your pc without much trouble at all.

  • so, You're very impressed with it, I am about to buy one; do you know if it is any good for vocals (with the built in mic)?

  • I don't sing so not sure...but the fidelity of the built-in mic is surprisingly good for acoustic guitar so I would think likely not too bad for vocals as well.

  • Hi, sorry for the question but do you think this is good for recording covers? I know it can play songs but can you record a cover over top of it?

  • I like your liberal use of the term, "POS" :-)

  • @3gypt1an I think it sounds awesome.

  • it is possible to use pedals into this gadget? or can only the br's effects be used?

  • Can anyone tell me if the Micro-BR has punch-in/out capability / input for a punch-in pedal so you can punch-in/out in the middle of a passage to fix mistakes? Thanks.

  • Can you plug it in your amplifier so that it records that?

  • can i just record the drums with the microphone or do i need to like mic it up
