A female quoll at the UQ open day, Gatton. She is owned/bred by Martin Fingland of 'Geckos' in Brisbane, QLD.

Quolls are native australian marsupials. They are obligate carnivores in the family of dasyurids, related to tasmanian devils.

  • A tazmanian devil cousin.

  • Amazing!!

Im a brunei who want to tranfer to UQ taking vet sci course and

currently im studying in UPM in malaysia taking the same course as well . Been there for my QUT foundation course for 2 semester.

  • Marsupials are unlike most other animals, particuly Dasyurids family eg: Quolls.

Male Quolls usualy die after thier first mating, a testosterone powered f**K fest leaves them so weak they rarely survive past their first season.

They will also eat just about anything. But my take on raising wildlife to release is they should eat native foods. I never understood why they died after mating but after catching their food I understood a population of elderly males wasnt sustainable.

  • Animals EAT whatever is offered-especially if it was still on the nipple...They die at 2 years!? Maybe it was the diet you offered-i never heard of that! Are you sure it was a quoll?Well, i raised mink and they ate EVERYTHING-from puppy chow to pizza&ice cream! But they were 'ranch mink' which meant they had only 5 years to live...

  • I helped raise a baby Quoll, a lot of work. We spent hours every day finding food eg: 3 Indo geckos, lizard eggs, a fist full of crickets and 2 pinkie mice every night. NOT FOR EVERYONE. But they are amazing. Knowing they will probably mate and die within 18month - 2 years doesnt help. But thats evolution.

  • NO BALLS MAN!!! The wilds are FAST DISAPPEARING!!! WE KILL EVERYTHING!!!-especially if we can't USE it!!!

  • but you want to do that? see that's just no good. they don't need to be fuzzy housepets, they need to be what they're meant to be, wild predators. you can hold and cuddle an atom bomb, doesn't mean it's safe.

  • And another thing,Mister-Know-it-all! Even a wolverine can be tamed as a baby-Ip you can get them BEFORE their eyes open!!-"Mommy!" What makes you think that a quoll would be any different??? And beffore you go shooting off your Know-Nothing-Mouth, I saw a video of a woman from New Guinea "holding&cuddling" her pet northern quoll

  • and i exaggerated about small cattle, though they could probably do it.

  • you can't just keep them as babies, they'll grow up and destroy all of your furniture. then people wouldn't want them anymore, and they'd start letting them go outdoors, and they'd eat all the native wildlife. it's about as safe as having a pet wolverine. i'd be all for it otherwise, they're possibly the cutest things on the planet, but it's just not practical.
