  • "You, as a taxpayer, end up..." Because you would say, "You end up" and 'as a taxpayer' is a dependent clause or something like that.

  • thanks :) but yea, I think I was mixed up with saying either "end up" or "ends up" becuase of that "as a tax payer" clause that I inserted... :(

  • I would be interested in your views on a single payer system?

  • oh I would LOVE a single payer system... I might actually move to another country that has one! Some of my fellow students are talking about it too... we're getting pretty disgusted with the US healthcare system

My next video I think will actually talk about how a free market system generally helps quality except in certain circumstances (like health care). In healthcare, it actually decreases it! cuz the incentive is quantity of care, not quality...

  • well I know up here in Canada we need more doctors as the population is getting older. To be honest I don't know enough about the inner workings of our system or the issues doctors face up here to give you an idea of what I would be like. Although I'm sure Doctors here would love to talk to you about it. look forward to seeing your next video I already subscribed.

  • cool! thanks :)

yea, I might be joining you up there after I pay off my loans :) [cuz yea... doctors here definately do get paid more, and i need that higher pay until my loans are paid, 250,000 dollars!!!] c ya!

  • I was just being nitpicky about that, you were so right about your point. We should've never done this insurance garbage in the first place. The only reasonable thing, so that government wouldn't eventually get control of this, is to leave every person's health in their own hands and then the hands of charity and the goodwill of the public, but nothing more. When I say that and people say how cruel, to leave it up to us to be responsible for ourselves, I know there are too many government babies.

  • i've said a lot of this in a previous video of mine. health insurers are for profit. they must pay ceos and execs exorbitant salaries then there is the stock holders. so the cost all gets pushed onto the insured.
