125 gal changed over to the Cyrtocara Moorii Blue dolphins. Coloney of 8 Blue Dolphins having a blast in a 125 gal from a 75 gal tank.. The big male is about 5 years old, the rest are not related to him and are about 4-5 years old.. Their are 30+ Fry from seperate spawns in this tank. Spitout from March to May.. Doing very well and they do come out and get really close to the adults.. Females do spit out food for them in the right side of rocks.. Neat to see that they do this..

  • Beautiful Cichlid tank! At one time, I was cycling close to 400 gallons for peacocks, Frontosa, Birchardi, and Yellow labs. I've gotten out of water storage(LOL) and started building vivariums and keeping poison Dart Frogs. Hope you have a wonderful New Year, Dave T.

  • Hey dave. U have some nice vivariums for sure!! Yes water storage is about right with 12 tanks!! not to mention the bill!!

Stayed home for new years, darn it!! but i feel better for it I am sure!!

That big male dolphin DIED today!! bummer big time. he just acted off and darted around.. did fine for a week, then I had to put him down today.. NOT sure why. all others are doing fine..

  • I changed the music on this to a more soothing I guess U could say.. the tank has not changed much.. I wil update the FRY one thou, as they are bigger now..

  • all of the rocks on the right side is for the Fry to hide so they can grow-up in this tank.. their are 20+ hiding and doing very well.. the adults ignore them most of the time and the females feed them every morning. these are doing better than the ones in the back tanks size wise.. they eat the same food..

  • Beautiful tank ...can you keep dolphin cichlids with mbunas because I heard dolphins are carnivores.

  • Your Cyrtocara Moorii is a good example, females are also good examples, I saw also the offspring, unfortunately Cyrtocara being micro-predators have no escape, all are intended to be eaten by adults ... you should have thought first now it is almost impossible to overcome ... leave it to nature ... maybe it will save one or maybe two ... who knows ..

We hope that all goes well ..:-)

    Hello

    Joachim.

  • nice fish. I just started keeping Cichlids. I have 3, and one for sure is a red zebra, and I believe the other two are kenyi. I bought them at wal-mart so not really sure what they are.LoL Like your aquarium.
