@Nickle98499 The final time when NBC aired College Basketball games was on Saturday, February 28, 1998 between Notre Dame and Providence. I think they should have kept it going (considering the fact, I was born around the time this game was played and NBC's heyday was before my time).

Nice video! I had forgotten that NBC had college hoops into the 90s.
I remember once in February of either 1996 or 1997 watching snippets of a game between notre dame and somebody. That might have been one of the last college basketball games on NBC.

@dssin Never really hammered UNC under Valvano, but they did tend to beat the Tar Heels when it mattered. They used to lose a lot in the regular season and then beat UNC in the ACC tournament a lot. Valvano never cared much about regular-season losses; he knew he'd win his share, and he also knew his strength of schedule would pay dividends. That being said, they did beat UNC--in Chapel Hill--in their next game after losing this one to Vegas, in the last time Valvano ever faced the Heels.

GO REBELS. this was when NC STATE use to hammer the Tar Heels when coach Valvano was still around?
-
not a very dominant performance by unlv.if this game had been played in nc i bet nc state would have won.

Albert and the Czar calling college...great stuff.

I would like to see that lsu vs unlv,or unlv vs the russians. They don't have stacked teams like they used to.
-
Did Marv Albert call the game?
-
Jimmy V, baby....

I feel you on that, NBC college basketball coverage was pretty good.
That game was played on Saturday, February 3rd, 1990. I can't say I remember this game, because I was only eight-and-a-half months old and read through history of NC State Basketball, but I would LOVE to see more old College Basketball games, so I can show people in my generation how College Basketball was great back then.

Cool - thanks for the exact date. My parents have loads of VHS tapes that I intend to borrow at Christmas. I am pretty sure there are more NC State games from this era.
