Three hundred fourteen traditional graduates and eight master's degree graduates received diplomas at Albright College's 152nd Commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 22, 2011, at 2:30 p.m.
The Honorable Tom Corbett, the 46th Governor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, will speak to the graduating seniors. This is his commencement address with introduction by Lex O. McMillan III, Ph.D., president of Albright College.
The Honorable Tom Corbett, was inaugurated as the 46th Governor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on January 18, 2011.
Governor Corbett has been a key adviser to U.S. presidents and governors. He has a long and distinguished career serving the citizens of the Commonwealth, making an impact on the lives of Pennsylvanians through his work on issues of criminal justice, victims' rights and drug and alcohol prevention and rehabilitation.
In 1995, he was appointed by Governor Ridge as attorney general to fill the remainder of the term, which ended in 1997. He then returned to private practice, forming his own law firm, Thomas Corbett and Associates, which specialized in consultation and government relations.
In 2008, Governor Corbett was re-elected as Pennsylvania's attorney general with more than three million votes, which is more votes than any Republican candidate in the history of Pennsylvania.
