Yeah I recently removed it, the packing is wrapped around the baffle and it all comes out pretty easy. You would probably need a change in air/fuel mixture screw, because it was hard to get it to rev passed 6000 with the baffle out, but I run slightly lean anyways. Short answer: Yes, rejetting and/or a/f screw tinkering will be needed.

@halomaniac94 I was thinking about doing the same thing. Do any of you know if removing the baffle could cause a change in the Air Fuel Ratio. Would the higher flow cause a need for more gas, or is it too minute of a change to require Jet mods?

I have this exact same bike, red 1981 kz750. Same V n H exhaust too. When you remove the baffle, does it come out as a unit or do you have to rip out packing? I want to know because I wanna hear what mine sounds like without the baffle, but also need to have it in to keep it legal.

I run this pipe on my 78 kz650.Sounds good,i bet its great in person.I LOVE the 80-85 KZ's,and GPZs.

my dad when he was 15 he had this same bike bone stocjk and he use to race vets down are street and he sayed it was so fast he would be out of gears coming out of the inter section and by the time the vet had finished my dad would of allready be at another race and he came up to a cop once and the cop reved it and my dad did a luittle shot hot even load and then the light went green and he ttook off aand when the cop stoped him my dad sayed u got to be fucking kidding me uve
is the baffle removable?

Yes it is - small screw near the end of the pipe holds it in (it's also a tight fit).
