  • This is not a generator! This is merely converting electrical energy from the battery to mechanical energy in the motor to electrical energy. The other remaining voltage is used to power the fan. People it's called the Law of conservation of energy.

  • But It still generates electricity!!!!! Yeah... Its not efficient but it is a generator. Really, If you want to step 24 volts down to 13 its useful if 24 is too much.

  • what is u put a fan out of a car window and let it spin backwards will it generate like 3 volts to power a game boy or something :)

  • it depends on what type of fan it is. Most possibly if it's a DC fan it will generate electricity but not a whole lot. Like 1v maybee....

  • wtf ur using a motor to generate 13v and the motor takes more then 13 v...

  • I never said that it would be very efficient..... Its just to show how motors can generate electricity.

  • @Bobensen

you CAN'T generate energy, only change it's form.

  • you're mongoloid!! nino nino nino nino... noni noni noni.....

  • Rubberband:snap

You: owwww it hit my eye!

  • @crouton54 hence the title, energy waster? quit being so critical. the point was, he is using the small motor as a generator to drive some electronics.

  • Why don´t you use a Step down-Converter ?

It´s cheaper and A LOT more efficiently....

  • i like the music whats it called?

  • there is a 12vdc to 240vac rotary converter i have seen. 500w in 350w out! it predates inverters, but is true sine wave. nice little project. most people would throw away this idea before doing but you did it and have been seen 39k times.

  • use both motors in virticle axis wind generators

  • electricity waster, ha ha sweet lol, seems some people did not read your title? I love how it generates less lol
