This is a response to Teri's FB vlog discussing her view on ramifications of walk-outs on DVTV and DeafRead. Issues raised here are the ramifications, collectivism vs individualist business model and how the Hearing majority would view us.

  • Hi Shel,

This is the best rebuttal ever. Very mature and sincere. Not like Ella's.

As of now, I am too emotional and/ or shocked. I will find time and reply your intellectual response, Shel.

  • I look forward to your reply when you can. I hope you recover soon.

  • Patti, you're correct. Every minority group which has come into contact with the majority group have come into internal conflict before freeing itself from oppression.

  • Hello Shel, thank you so much for your vlog! I appreciated it so much. Ya know that if anyone who labled "wow very more mature and more sincere" better than anyone is not going to be resolve any problems because it will go down flushing in the toilet all over again which that still looking down on us, Deaf. Whateva!! We must stop and avoid helping others who like to pity or look down on us! Thank you!

  • Good vlog. You stand up for the Deaf community.

  • The Pilgrims walked out of the British Empire and went to America. We would never call them weak and coward. They did the right thing!

The DVTV walk-out serves as a powerful message that the right thing is doable and, therefore, not debatable.

  • Good points, Shel, as usual. Hopefully Teri watches and thinks.

  • yeah your last comment..."makes life hmmm interesting!" I chuckled. How so true !

I posted a series of vlogs "3 Ways of Getting Things Done" based on a book by Gerald Fairtlough. The editing is not the best, but at least I hope it's a start for people to read the book and see how apply to our operating systems. It mentions the Japanese style. It also mentions problems of hierarchy and recommends we have more of "heterarchy" style. Etc etc. Go check them out if you have the time.
