Riding bikes on sidewalk is illegal. It`s call a sidewalk for a reason. Sidewalk are meant for walking. If you want to ride a bike, take it to the road.Bicycle are subject to the same laws as cars in most cities. How many times have you walk down a sidewalk and a cyclist comes flying down the sidewalk and expect you to give him the right of ways?? Know the laws in you area cyclist.

This video is barely audible.
The idea is excellent. The marketting thoroughly deceitful and misleading.
The average tourist who uses the bike for a day will be up for much more than 5$. I think it is ok for commuters who can get to work in under 45 but the bikes are so heavy!!! it beggars the question of why not just buy your own! I am 80 k and had to pedal to go DOWN mont royal!!

nice video. i used the bixi bikes all weekend. I LOVE THEM!
You are correct that bicycles are subject to the same laws as motor vehicles in most states in the United States. Ordinances about bicycling on the sidewalk varies widely. In my state, bicycles are allowed on the sidewalk except in the central business district. Yet in my municiplaity, no cycling is allowed on any sidewalk unless the cyclist is under the age of 12 yeqrs old. It may be illegal to ride a bicycle on sidewalks where you live, but it is not true everywhere.
