For our final project in my Matte Painting class, we were to take an earlier matte painting and make it into a moving image. It was also supposed to incorporate some kind of before/after pass, so I did a swooping camera move with the integrated elements phasing into the video.
The matte itself consists of several different images. The main scene is from the quad outside the ES&T building at Georgia Tech. The sky is from a high-res photograph of Prague. The other building is from another college campus. The mountain was drawn in Photoshop.
Because of the artifacts present in the Vanishing Point version of this file, I wanted to make a 2D version that was clean of visual glitches. The overall effect isn't quite as impressive, but I'm still pleased enough with the results to merit posting them.
