As a matter of fact I do eat an organic whole food raw diet and have kosher beliefs and do not eat anything declared unclean by YHWH. Yes, silly it is to pray over any food. The Bible teaches to "give thanks" AFTER a meal. I beg to disagree with you, many Americans do NOT read their Bible and are led by false teachings and the 'fruits' bear witness to this. Knowledge is key, and I find it in the Torah which Yeshua the Messiah fulfilled perfectly!

The ethics of altruism taught by all religions is a large reason we are in this mess. Religion teaches us to live for others, that the individual is not an end in itself and must be sacrificed to the needy. A reason-based (not faith based) ethics with inalienable individual rights as its foundation is the antidote. In short, it is Ayn Rand's philosophy of Objectivism that is needed.
