Classic American beef is corn-fed or grain-fed beef. It takes about seven pounds of corn to add one pound of cattle weight. It takes about 1600 calories of fossil fuels to produce 100 calories of conventional beef. In the long run, this is a losing proposition. And that's just one reason Beef is #8 on Dr. Greene's list.

  • I was enjoying these new found videos until I see this video. promoting any animal product as a health food, is just ridiculous. saturated fat and cholesterol are the number one killers in North America. Please promote fruits and vegetables and whole grains.

  • We need natural saturated fat in our diets. The important phospholipids that form the membranes in all of our cells are made of mostly (half or more) saturated fatty acids. This is especially true for parts of our brains where more than 80 percent of the phospholipids carry half of their fatty acids as saturated fatty acids.

  • great video except for the comment that saturated fats are bad. They are very beneficial. Saturated fats do not cause heart disease, inflammation causes heart disease!

  • well, he says grass fed organic beef.

  • What is not mentioned here is that organic beef can be fed corn. Just because it says organic, does not mean that it is exclusively grass fed.
