And here come the so called 'martial arts' experts. The art is Sambo but the striking is influenced by Karate and Boxing. Thats how the founder of Sambo did it. Vasili Oshchepkov was one of the founders. A Judo and Karate black belt, he added those arts along with Russian traditional wrestling. Victor Spiridonov added Greco Roman and freestyle wrestling to it.

They fought militia with old weapons in Iraq 10 years, Russia beated Georgia in 5 days, even when Georgia already were in South Ossetia, plus, Russia used only compulsary service teens and few armor.
