My mother raped me as a child and as an adolescent. It has been a hard road to tell my story to others. For a long time, old friends from college and high school dismissed what I was telling them. That hurt a lot, too. But I see the importance of telling my true story to others, because children are still being physically and sexually abused.

This video page is dedicated to all male sexual abuse survivors. I am starting a national network of survivors, and I am offering support and encouragement to all men who have survived sexual abuse. All survivors of sexual abuse should know that there is hope: There is a way out of the pain, the memories, the fears and setbacks that survivors endure. For me, it was turning to God and praying. God has healed me of the most serious wounds I endured as a child, and my life has been restored.

I forgive my mother and my father for what they did to me. That does not mean I need to keep quiet. There are millions of people who need help to recover from the shame and hurt inflicted on them by their abusers.

And so, I am speaking out against sexual abuse and I am speaking up for myself and anyone else who has been physically and sexually abused.

I left a video response already, yet I am drawn by back...so much so that I have featured it on my blog masteryourhealing. Douglas this really cuts to the heart of the matter. We as men keep silent, have been silent, but need to break that silence. Thank you for sharing this part of you, for the rest of us who can certainly identify. thanks for this video.. when I first saw this video I was still living at home en hadn´t spoken about what happend and was happening.. Now I´m in a shelter and I lived in a foster family... I am soon going to live on my own.. I´m a lot stronger... school noticed luckely that something was wrong and I spoke out... en they got me help...
