  • It still keep happening and happening and happening. Even when the operators are fined they have a 'collateral damage' estimate on how much they would lose by shutting down and fixing the problem or how much they would have to pay relatives out for 'lost' miners...then a governor like Archie comes along and pardons the owners on his last day in office. The miners need all the prayers and help they can get. Thank you for putting this up. I have been looking for it. We will always have Hazel. RIP

  • Oops---Jack Leiderman--sorry. Nice to see you back in the Bay Area. Been a long time.

  • >Jim Liederman on fiddle

    Jack Liederman

  • that has to be Richard Underwood on the banjo, Dudley Connell & Marshall Wilborn are on guitar & bass respectfully. I'm not familiar with the mandolin player, that has to be Jim Liederman on fiddle

  • This is a really great song the image of those 70 men who should not be forgotten or unknown. Shame on Coal Companies. operator's turning their backs on their people! Shame on Big Corporations .

  • I got quite a few relatives who work in the Trona Mines in SW. Wyoming.

One was in a mine one day, in 2000 when it blew up killing one miner as rescuers pulled him out of the hole.

These trona Mines are the biggest on the world. 2000 miles of roads, 1600 feet down under. When I saw the mines myself, it was scary as I seen old drilled out areas starting to cave in, the walla were supported by wood palets from the floor to the ceiling.

4 hours later, I was glad to be out.

    We are all family

  • I think this song echos to the soul of any like my self who grew up in the Appalachian coal fields. Sadly the history in this song has repeated itself in the Upper Big Branch Disaster. Too long we in West Virginia and all of the Appalachia coal fields are told we have to sacrifice for coal. I was told I had to sacrifice my family history. • God bless and save them all. my grandpa died of black lung and i lost an uncle in the mines.

  • We lost 6 more so far in the latest WV mine disaster. 21 more missing. This lady is the real deal, she's lost 2 brothers to Black Lung. Say a prayer for ALL the Coal Miner the world over.

  • God bless hazel for speaking out
