OK, but if it comes to "big toe up butt" I quit. ;-)

Keith Owen just seems like an incredibly down-to-earth instructor. He turns the most mundane and everyday parts of BJJ into lifesavers. Much thanks to Submissions101 for this and all their other very helpful videos.

@thosedamnhooligans in the streets there is no illegal stuff. like the navy seals say, always cheat if you can. there are no rules anywhere.

i didnt think this would work until i dug my thumb into my own pits LOL

@holyshitletmeinplz That black belt he's wearing doesn't come for free with a box of cornflakes you know. Even if there's no such thing as flawless technique(s), he probably knows what he's talking about.
In this case he's just using that finger as a point for the hand, not as a finger by itself. You do that very same thing with each finger all the time in grappling, it's unavoidable when making any push motion, unless making a fist all the time.
Ever got injured with every push you made? ;-)

A martial artist attacks ones strong points, being fair.
A fighter attacks ones weaknesses, being dirty.
Which one do you think is the smarter way to go?
BJJ is a fighter's sport guys.

@swilson3d Sam, This is not real BJJ. Settle down don't take it personally. Whe I was 13 or so I loved to think this was cool. "World Champion Level" Are you saying this crap is being taught by a BJJ World Champion. When did he win the Worlds or even compete in the worlds. Look Sam there is a lot of crap out there and people deserve to know whats what.
thats legal ? seems a bit dirty but effective

@thosedamnhooligans Now here is the thing. For people who have not done this nor had it done, the immediate reaction is "its a pressure point attack" or "its a douchey move."
It really isn't. This is uncomfortable but not major pain producing. The beauty of it is that it really does move you. It moves you enough that your partner can throw the guard back on.

What are the chances one could break or dislocate their thumb doing that?
paulwall3232 1 year ago
@paulwall3232 I've done this a thousand times and never had a problem. It isn't just the thumb...its the whole hand that really is pushing and then regaining guard.
