Spotting at Philadelphia International Airport

Philadelphia International Airport
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Wednesday August 27, 2008

IN THIS VIDEO, watch as various airliners depart from PHL's Runway 9L and later on, arrive onto Runway 9R. I had checked out a new spot for 9R arrivals, which I think is an excellent spot. You can see one of my friends towards the end of the video, shooting from a spot where he shouldn't be standing. This is still using the same settings as the videos from Atlantic City, and I think I had much better control with the camera this time around.

If you are interested in purchasing DVDs of specific aircraft or of airshows, interested in everything related to airshows (where the jet teams will be, all airshow performers, airshow reports from airshows I have attended, previews of airshows I will be attending, etc.), and/or everything related to aviation - including spotting guides to my favorite airports and military bases and aircraft factfiles, please check out Steve's Airshow World at http://www.stevesairshow.com .

  • So is spotting for looking out for things that go wrong?? So there is good video Of it if it dose happin?

  • Well, it has many definitions. Some people go out to watch aircraft, and that's considered spotting. Then you have those who call spotting as being taking pictures/video of aircraft, collecting/writing down registrations, and listening to ATC. The hardcore spotters will also help law enforcement in point out any irregularities in the surroundings, whether it be an accident of any kind, or if they take pictures or video of an accident, helping with the investigation.

  • I have a question for you, where do you get the receiver to listen to the ATC and about how much is it?

  • nice video bro...cool spotting mate! Awesome stuff!!

  • @Amtrak1194 Different type's of planes...for instance the 737-300 (SWA) will have a shorter wingspan than a United 737-500.

  • why is there such a difference in wingspan between SWA 737's and United 737's?

  • Dang, you could hear that maddog waayyy out there.

  • DC 9!! @ 308!!!!! yessir!!

  • 9:12 to 9:24 is one of my favorite sounds in the world: the planes tires touching the runway followed by the thrust reversers.

  • Awesome. I live in Collingdale. (Close to PHL). 5* and ♥.

  • excelente fantastico pousos e decolagens muito bem feito Sergio BRASIL SUL
