@CoronaJoe Tyson was a small fighter. He never had outside game, which is why he fought so aggressively to stay in the middle of the ring. I was going to say almost the same thing about George. George is willing to eat shots to get close because his punches are powerful as hell. I still think Mike would've won but the old man would've made him earn it.
@CoronaJoe and also because off all the mental problems hy do you think he lost all hes hair its because he suffered from excessive stress from all the hardship and low lifes that took advantage of him and used him for his money "cough -robin givens- cough" and that fact that he lost the wll to want to fight no boxer has had close to the problems mike has had and boxing isnt just pysical you got to be tough mentally and all the problems he had just crushed his mentality
@CoronaJoe and as for trainers i didnt say hes downfall started when cus died it was but that deffinetly helped the reason tyson stopped being as good was coz he signed with don king and had a different trainer cus d amato and kevin rooney were the only good trainers that trained the peek a boo style tyson was the first person to have that style so getting a new trainer for him is different because they would be trying to train him in the normal boxing style that most others do
@CoronaJoe mike has kod plenty of tall fighters that are better then buster and the excuses are plausable tyson even said it himself by the time he got to his first loss he didnt even want to fight anymore and just by watching that fight u can tell he didnt fight the same as he did 2 years before it and he would easily get inside george and open up on his rib cage followed by a combo that would knock out george with ease
...and....as has already been said, this fight would be all wrong for Mike. His style would play into George's hands perfectly, even the older version of George. Mike had ZERO outside game, and there's no way he'd get inside without being punished.
Watch the Douglas fight with an open mind. I know there's a million excuses out there (some are legit) for Mike..but style wise, he was clueless how to get inside on a tall opponent with outside skills...just kept trying the same old 1-2-3 routine.
Saying you can "see" who the better fighter is, and ignore the level of competition is almost as retarded as calling Lee the best fighter ever. What are you, 12?
As for Foreman-Tyson...take it from someone who was actually around back then, wanting to see this fight. Mike was the reason it didn't happen....George went on every show, and mentioned in every interview how he wanted this fight....on two occasions, he signed contracts and publicly said the ball was in Mike's court.
Pffff !! The real Winner is Foreman !!
