the very best one i know which has saved me at least 4000 dollars is when you buy an appalince (laptop dvd player etc...)
once the item breaks or is just unusable anymore you go out and buy a duplicate item, take it home, put the broken item in the new box and return it for a full refund.
you'll never have to pay for another laptop again. write me if you need me to explain it in more detail.
essentially you pay for an item and dont have to buy a replacement in the event it breaks.
