The once appetizing dish of the day had long been turning stale. Rick Adams & Sharron Davies serve up their first helping of a new recipe. But the fresh morning brew turned out not to be everyone's cup of tea.

  • loving this are the other parts gna be uploaded?

  • @morgaineofevil The rest of this edition is on the horizon. I'm not sure when, but it shouldn't be tooooo long now.

  • I remember watching this. I thought Rick was a good fit for the Big Breakfast as he was loud, excitable and was good with the guests and with Zig and Zag. Denise and Rick would have been a better pairing.

  • @newcastlemad1984 They did pair up Rick & Denise on a few occasions. They worked quite well together, but didn't really spark off of one another.

I've never figured out why Rick didn't settlle in well. He ticked all the right boxes, but somehow just didn't get the results. I think the show was exhausted by then though and that the audience rejection was more to do with the show as a whole, than it was with Rick personally.

  • @morgaineofevil soon I hope....Sharron always looked kinda hot in the morning!!!!

  • fantastic great to see it live on in our memories

  • I love sharron davies but not in the big breakfast, think she was miscast shes better at just presenting sports stuff

  • This was a bad period but still better than the final relaunch. When Richard Bacon was in the main chair it was game over. He was the appauling. Started with some great talent and ended with such crap in front of the camera.

  • @97channel I lost interest after seeing the relaunch as I thought the show lost its roots and become more of an irreverent, quirky but not the wacky 92-96 era under Chris/Gaby, Gaby/Paul and then Mark/Keith/Zoe. I agree that the show was very much presenter led which why it was axed in 2001.

  • @MrBacktothenineties The relaunch introduced an idea of a daily colour scheme where the on-screen clock, the cushions on the sofa, the background graphic during the news, the presenter's scripts and clipboards, the tablecloth on the kitchen table, and lots of other things, would all be colour co-ordinated. So Monday's were always yellow, Tuesday's were always... erm, I forget... green I think... and so on.

It didn't work out very well, as it made for some awful colour clashes on some days.
