You can be a part of this the 2nd Annual Los Angeles Limerick Festival on 11/11/11 at the Altadena Ale House.
This year's LA Limerick Fest will be hosted by100.3 FM radio personality, Mimi Chen, as the Mistress of Ceremony and will feature Tess Vigeland of American Public Radio's Marketplace, Leon Schwartz, Jeff Goode, Jan Michael Alejandro, and limericks from political satirist, Madeleine Begun Kane. Plus open mic poets.
Open mic 11/11/11 Doors open 6:45PM. Admission $10 (Proceeds to go to "A Case for the Cure" to benefit the Susan B. Komen organization and The City of Hope.)

Hi, just a note about the ‘limerick’ verse form, its association with Limerick has often been disputed. We are in no doubt that the ‘limerick’ does originate from Croom Co. Limerick in Ireland sometime back in the 18th century but the name ‘limerick’ was not applied to it until the late 19th century when Edward Lear was writing his nonsence verse.
