they go 50 to 60 over those tracks

I agree.
The "T" Commuter operators should blow their horns at ALL crossings

The Fitchburg Line from Acton to Boston is a quiet zone and horns are not blown at the crossings. I was just stopped at the Waltham Station and the train did not blow it's horn. They are trying to get Boxboro added to the quiet zone, but I haven't heard anything on that since WBZ-TV in Boston ran a brief story on it in March.

How fast would you say those trains were going? MBTA Commuter Rail trains don't go any faster than 70 miles an hour, although I don't think those trains were quite doing 70.

I'd guess that they were only doing 40 or 45 mph.

all right, if you say so, but I still think it's pretty weird

It's disgusting is what it is. Trains should always be allowed to blow their horns at crossings.

It certainly is disgusting. There are many crossings at which trains aren't allowed to blow their horns. In Beverly, trains aren't allowed to blow their horns at ANY of the 17 crossings. It's because a lot of people who live there don't want to hear horns blowing all the time. If they don't like it, that's their problem. No one forced them to live near crossings.

It's a soulless person who doesn't like a train horn.
