This is a short video to demonstrate the LED Accent Lights that I installed on my 2003 Honda VFR800. I purchased them from Joe Florida (www.ledaccentlights.net) and am very pleased. For some reason the video shows the "fade" function to have a pulsating look. This is how the camera picked it up but does not look that way in person. Thanks for looking!

  • Nice video. I saw your vid and went to Joe Florida's website. Pretty good prices and the kit looks good.

How long did it take you to wire it?

I'm looking to do a snowmobile, and I used a string to 'pre-wire' it for measurements and it was a chore. Modern snowmobile engine compartments are PACKED tight and wires can only go certain ways without getting turn up by moving parts or burned up by the engine or exhaust.

  • It didnt take long at all. Maybe a couple of hours start to finish. I completely understand about what you mean about being cramped for space in the engine compartments. The wiring is insulated for heat but I dont know how much they would withstand. You can call Joe on the number on his website and talk to him about it. He is very helpful.

  • Do you live in Virginia? I am thinking about buying a lighting kit mainly for night time visibility. Do you know if they are legal? Have you had any problems with police? Thanks in advance.

  • Yes, I do live in Virginia and Yes they are illegal here. The law states (as I understand it) you can use them if you are not in motion such as in a parking lot. You cant have them on at all on the roadway. They provide excellent visibility and I beleive added safety. I guess the Commonwealth doesnt agree. I live near the state line and use them primarily in NC and elsewhere. Thanks for the comment.

  • Could you update us to the durability as well as a video with the bike lights on? Really like the flash function btw.

  • Thanks for the comment. I have rode about 500 miles with the lights and they have done very well. I was a little concerned about the heat generated from the radiators, as 2 of the pods are actually against the radiators, but there hasnt been any problems at all. I'll try to do a video with the bike's lights on as well... Thanks!

  • great video, i found Joes site and seen your video there, very helpfull. im going to order the same kit for my cbr might get a few extra leds tho just incase. Not sure if i should spend the extra money and get the remote tho.

  • Cool. I got the 72 LED kit for my snowmobile and installed it. See my videos to watch.

  • He shows the single strands for the snowmobile set-ups. I measured up my snowmobile and asked him if he could make me up a custom set. I don't really think the singles are the best way to go for my snowmobile.

  • great video. i bought some for mine a while back, blue, for my 2007 Kawasaki Ninja 650R and they were great. mine were 2 pods and the rest were single LED bulbs. i dont kno if he still has them but they were great nontheless. just becareful when riding with them on...i kno some cops dont like blue or red lights on any non-emergency vehicle, whether they r flashing or not. i have been pulled over 3 times here in Florida. any other color is fine as long as its not flashing

  • BHShaman, i bought sum Joe Florida light back in november for 2008, when he use to sell kits that had single led blubs and the wires can stand to quite sum heat from the engine. just make sure u keep a good distance from the exhaust tho. i forgot to tite up one wire and it got to close to the exhaust on my bike and melted and frayed with one ride.

  • On the snowmobile, I have to follow the same path on 4 wires from different LEDs, so I'm thinking of 1/8 or 1/4 split cable loom. It would add another insulation layer and since almost all the leads would be in the engine compartment the loom won't take away from the overall look.

  • Thanks for your help. Do not understand why motorcyclist cannot have accent lights as long as they are not flashing imitating an emergency vehicle. I seen accent lights on a bike in Maryland and I noticed him immediatly while I was in my car. Thanks again.
