Foreigners in Lillehammer, Norway

This video was an assignment for a video production course that I took in Lillehammer, Norway during my exchange as a student. I made it with my buddies, Emrys and Mathijs.

First, I have to say that there are different levels of interpretations to any video. What you may refer to are the explicit comments, I refer to implicit (values, themes, subtext). What is the first sentence in this video? "That´s the problem with them...". The first chosen word of any text is not random and has value.

Now about being proud of being cold. It´s like when people are proud of being jewish, gay etc. when someone criticize it, they still get annoyed.

@weiyi1123 you see the purpose of this video is not to confirm that norwegians are unfriendly or cold toward foreigners. Did he say that in the video? I don't think so and I'm pretty sure he never said anything like that in the video. But you assume that he is criticizing norwegians. (unless you've already admitted you guys don't treat foreigners well...) yea, you guys are proud of being cold. If you're proud of being cold, then why do you get pissed off when one foreigner called you guys"cold"?

@AndyAce83 I understand some foreigners are annoying because some of them create troubles or bring their fucked up attitudes to other countries while they staying there. I've seen them too in my country because they think they're the boss but while they're nothing but pathetic business people who try to rip off some money from my country. Not only that they have done some horrible things which you wish to kick their ass out of my country. But in my opinion, this is not the point of the video.

I don´t get it? What´s not to get. A guy comes to Norway and criticize it coldness. He then seeks confirmation from other "non-Norwegian" which states the same. I, as a Norwegian, then says "Shut up! If you don´t like it go back to your harsh and your whores."

If I said "that´s the problem with THEM..." about Muslims, Somalians etc. I would be racist. The coldness is (was) one of our proudest traditions. It´s honest.

@AndyAce83 you don't get it, do you? The point of this video is to show how norwegians treat foreigners. Are they friendly or unfriendly or cold, indifferent?. Don't complain because videos like this are all over youtube. If you search foreigners in other countries, you will see other similar videos like this. He is not lecture you guys how you should behave, you choose how to treat foreigners since it's your country. He just want to know how foreigners in Norway think about Norway.

Norway is not the USA, nor is the rest of Scandinavia. Countries with small populations that get overrun with foreigners who want to live there aren't eager to have their own traditions and culture changed by all those who want to jump on board. It sounds like the Norwegians were friendly, but what was the purpose of this film?

When that is said... Thank you for lecturing us on how we should behave towards immigrants. I am not cultural relative and have no need either to want immigrants or to hate them. We don't have to do anything! I do not have to appreciate other cultures nor do they have to appreciate mine. But don't come to Norway and complain. I would never travel to Amsterdam and say "Hey, there are way to many whores and drugs here. They are horribly liberal." That's not my right!
