India making headway in electronic warfare - Star Wars like Laser weapons

India is finally making some steady progress towards acquiring sophisticated indigenous expertise in the arena of electronic warfare (EW), after a delay of several years.

Use of electronic systems to detect, intercept and jam the enemy's radar and communication networks, while preventing hostile forces from doing the same, is part of the rapidly digitizing battlefield these days. In short, the battle is now over achieving control of the entire electromagnetic spectrum during any military action.

Covering both radar and communication frequency bands, it will be ready for full-scale deployment by 2005-end. Its main functions are to intercept, detect, search, identify and locate complex communication and radar signals.

This is nothing new, NSA and FAPSI used this system decades ago! This is eavesdropping! By the way this is good for India, China doesn't have such a system which is as good as this. And India need not worry about Chinese Hackers. They may be good but they are not the best. Indian Army has secured all its systems.
