How can I get my guitar to sound 8 bit?

What I did in this was had the pu on neck(which in this case is a single coil) and tap kinda hard like a drum rhythm. Also I was playing out of lil amp that only had a 10 in speaker but it was just straight distortion. No effect other than that at all.
