Darkest Hour Mod 5.0 - Mortar Gameplay [HD 720]

More Darkest Hour 5.0 gameplay here. This time with the German Kurz 8cm Granatwerfer 42 Mortar (I hope I got that right!).

At first I thought I was doing terribly, no kills were registering but then I respawned and had 25 kills registered, so it turns out the mortar operator class is pretty lethal if you know how to hit your target properly!

I worked out how to range the weapon on single player after much experimenting and it paid off big time online!

Our mortar spotter wasn't spotting targets so I decided to get into visual range and fire by eye, this unfortunately meant the enemy could see me quite clearly but my hope was that they'd be too busy running away from my mortar shells to shoot me :P

What happens when the mortar observer marks a target? Are the coordinates shown up so I simply has to angle like the game tells me? Unfortunately I never had a mortar observer who did his job :(

@draistRomol I've played as mortar guy a lot and I've only ever had an observer who's known what he's doing once. That worked very well as the observer would mark the position I'd guestimate the distance and then use my distance chart I printed out to get the angle. Then it marked on the map where my shells were landing.

I don't know if the observer was marking these or if it was just automatic because he was nearby the targets though.

how do i set the mortar? in my practice it wont let me set up even when iclick the fire button or do i use secondary fire?
