United States Crude Oil - Where Does It Come From?

The following pie chart says more than any text could. The United States is only able to domestically extract 36% of the crude oil we consume. Amercians might be surprized to discover that just over 13% of our crude oil comes from Central and South America and just under 13% comes from Africa. The biggest surprize for me was the presence of Kazakhstan on the list of countries from which we import crude oil. We imported 3.34 million barrels of oil from Kazakhstan in July, making them #16 on the list that month.

  • Where Is The Website Cause I Need The Chart For My Project, And It Could Be Very HelpFul

  • @xLiLJessa123

Read the comments, the link to the pie chart is there. This chart is two years old, I made it myself. The president told us in his weekly video that we now get 50% of our oil domestically. It might be time for a new pie chart. Private message me about your project. If I can help, I will.

  • Hi zthustra,

You might find this TED video of interest. Some of his conclusions are similar to yours:

  • Watched it yesterday ... awesome video. I love TED.

I thought it was especially revealing that the expansion of Chinese influence and pupulations matches a historic expansion from the past.

China is the player to watch! People tend to think Russia is the big kid on the playground but their population is less than half the US, while China's is over foru times ours.

Their currency is so strong they are afraid to let it float for fear they will loose exports.

  • Iraq will probably surpass all countries except Canada.

  • Kazakhstan is a strong economy since they declared independence from the USSR, because of the natural resources held there, if you look into KZ a little more you will see why the economy there has done nothing but grow while others expand and contract.

  • Wow, that is short for you!

Good to see you're making videos again after your hiatus.

  • Very enlightening information.

    Thank you!

  • Great video! Right on with what I've been studying in my second year of geology.

I just recently discovered your channel and subscribed. I look forwad to watching the rest of your vids. You remind me of Robert De Niro. :-)

    Peace

  • and to think that all of this oil business is avoidable if we just held onto Henry Ford's original construction of the automobile.

The body was completely made of hemp fibers and the engine ran completely off of hempseed oil.

To think we don't need any of this oil and all of this is avoidable. However, the list itself is very surprising in regards to exactly where our oil comes from.
