To everyone who commented on the compressor surge, you were definitely right! after installing new parts and attempting to do the first test run on the car we ensured that all the lines were hooked up properly but still noticed compressor surge coming out of the intake. We then found a 3-pronged vacuum line attachment that is in between the intake-manifold and the BOV. Where the BOV vacuum line hooks up to this 3-pronged attachment was a tiny crack the BOV sounds great now with no surge!
