Yes, that is correct, you may only eat alive cows and chickens. Also, it is forbidden to eat cow from the middle east, as they don't chew on the cud, as there isn't any in the sand - they feed them on animal grain and foods, so that is forbidden, as written in the holy books. I hope that makes sense. You must just blindly follow what somebody wrote a long time ago in the past. It is the only think that makes sense. Ignore all this science stuff it's nonsense. It says in the Qur'an and the Bible says it so. "Don't eat the dead meat" . I am a newly converted to Muslim and i am a carnivore. my question is, is it OK to get frozen chickens or fish? or do i need to get live animals then eat it alive? pls. help

A few religions forbid the consumption of pork. That does not mean it is a health hazard. In modern countries, we have food inspection standards that must be adhered to. There is also the fact that pork must be cooked to an internal temperature of at least 170 Fahrenheit. Millions of people consume pork on a daily basis. They are still alive. Choose not to eat pork, your call, but be smart about your reasoning behind it.
