I loved Chook and I was very lucky to meet Chook, he chirped nicely to me for 20 minutes, it was wrong time for the other sounds in early February. Chook was a very sweet boy, I will miss him very much, when I visit Adelaide next time! I hope that Chook will find a girl friend in heaven! Thank you for sharing all the memories!
I heard about chook and was a fan, and visited Adelaide Zoo in January this year, so sad I never got to see him.

I remember when chook accurately mimicked the carpenter's battery-drills, hammers, saws, and so-on, but: at a realistic volume for the activity!
I could not believe my ears my ears when I wandered past Chook's compound and clearly heard a tradesperson drilling PK screws into a perma-pine post.
But on looking back: no-one was in the area!
Mimicry *so real* that it even reproduced the echos.
Vale, Chook.
I wonder if visitors have any recordings of Chook?
It would be fitting to collate them.
