This is a video filmed by Andrew Fedynak of us making handle # 0904 listed on www.northerncrescentiron.com/hardware.html
This video shows the different stages in the forging process of the handle. The power hammer is a Clay Spencer tire hammer I built in in March 2008. This film was recorded during our last days at the Phil Mechanic Studios in the River Arts District of Asheville NC. Editing by Matt Waldrop. • I've actually put a lot of thought into jiging this handle. for it to work correctly with the design I would need multiple jigs, length and depth stops for the power hammer so that the handle could be jiged and not get gouged and be consistent. but for now this is how i make it.
