@Gold139 dude whatever you think of chess it still remains a game. people play poker, backgammon and get millions out of it but does that change the nature of the thing in itself. whether it is your passion or job it is still a game just like a dog remains a dog regardless of whether you call it James and dress it up! i play for the love of it and probably so do you even if you like to claim yourself a pro! theres so much more to life than chess, even fischer would tell you so :D "LMAO"

@hekoka if you think chess is just a game, then it doesn't mean everybody thinks so. You play for fun, people play for money or passion LOL, dont assume too much. And yes, you're assuming that I know much about fischer also. i never said that, but you DID assume that he got no social life lol... so where did you read that info lmao? You know why your mind was boggled? because you're an amateur, not professional rofl... For them, chess is their lives, dont apply your mindset on people lol

@elmuraddi lets get real here and not so much sentimental! fact is that none of us youtubers knew Bobby Fischer personally. most of us anyway. so to trying to portray his life based on wishful thinking is not only sillly, it is ludicrous! even Jesus didnt have "thousands" of friends! from what we're told Bobby didnt live a very pleasant life, especially his last years! he became a recluse and ranted maniacal remarks on live radios and talked about killing hundreds of thousands of people. please!

@Gold139 chess is a game for amateurs and professionals alike! if its not a game then what is it. I am not his mother, no! are you? dont think so! how could you know better than me if we're being fed the same information through books and documentaries! dont philosophise too much, just play chess and enjoy the the game. it boggles my mind how 20 year olds are willing to spend 6 hours a day paying chess and not get a penny for it. life has so much to offer, go out there and socalise

@hekoka how do you know that he had no friends or relationships? lol, are you his mother?... and, he got to do what he likes, he had the passion for it, unlike some amateurs who only think of chess as a "game"....

Is it really worth it"?

I think everybody has something they could be good at, however for some reason, they don't put up the fight and end up doing something else and thinking for the rest of their lives: What if? that is the main source of unhappiness in the life.
Well hear, Robert Fischer knew he could be the best of the world, he put up the fight, and he made it. Of course he has a curse on him, every loser will point at him and ask "Is it worth it?" to justify their own mediocrity and insignificance.

for me him having bad attitude at chess is not worth for what he achieved maybe a lil less...
