Dreamsicle cake recipes aren't healthy, organic or light but they are delicious. This dreamsicle recipe is one of Rita's most requested clones. Its box cake mix recipe that adds a few other grocery store ingredients to create a moist and delicious creamsicle cake.

This dreamsicle cake recipe is easy, but it does have a lot of ingredients including the box cake mix. You can see the recipe at Abouteating.com/Creamsicle-Cake.html

  • Do you chop up the mandarins or leave them whole?

  • @wenaolee If you're using mandarin oranges instead of pineapple in this dreamsicle cake recipe, you should chop the oranges. It will give it the sweetness without the full slices of oranges.

  • Me too!

  • Does anyone know if you have to add pineapple or mandarin oranges? Im not a fan of fruit and cake

  • @Ashley11021 You can try it without the fruit, but honestly, you won't even know it's in there, just gives a nice moistness and a very faint flavor. Rita from AboutEating.

  • would this work i I put the batter in cupcake pans?

  • @prettyinpink9893 You could try - just bake them at 350 for about 20 minutes or so until toothpick inserted comes out clean.

  • this looks delish. what flavor kool=aid to use?

  • Laurasuits:

No - it just enhances the flavor. But if you don't have it/don't want to put it in, the cake will still be yummy.

  • Do i have to have the kool-aid ?

  • I'm gonna make it this weekend with my nephew. He's five and I know he'll love to help put all the ingredients in the bowl and spread the icing. Thanks for the idea.

  • I love this cake! Thank you, Rita
