Buddhism
Meditation has always been central to Buddhism. The historical Buddha himself was said to have achieved enlightenment while meditating under a Bodhi tree. Most forms of Buddhism distinguish between two classes of meditation practices, shamatha and vipassana, both of which are necessary for attaining enlightenment. The former consists of practices aimed at developing the ability to focus the attention single-pointedly; the latter includes practices aimed at developing insight and wisdom through seeing the true nature of reality. The differentiation between the two types of meditation practices is not always clear cut, which is made obvious when studying practices such as Anapanasati which could be said to start off as a shamatha practice but that goes through a number of stages and ends up as a vipassana practice.

Theravada Buddhism emphasizes the meditative development of mindfulness (sati, see for example the Satipatthana Sutta) and concentration (samadhi, see kammatthana), as part of the Noble Eightfold Path, in the pursuit of Nibbana (Nirvana). Traditional popular meditation subjects include the breath (anapana) and loving-kindness (mettā).

In Japanese Mahayana schools, Tendai (Tien-tai), concentration is cultivated through highly structured ritual. Especially in the Chinese Chán Buddhism school (which branched out into the Japanese Zen, and Korean Seon schools), ts'o ch'an meditation and koan meditation practices allow a practitioner to directly experience the true nature of reality (each of the names of these schools derives from the Sanskrit dhyana, and translates into "meditation" in their respective languages). The esoteric Shingon sect shares many features with Tibetan Buddhism.

Tibetan Buddhism (Vajrayana) emphasizes tantra for its senior practitioners; hence its alternate name of Tantrayana Buddhism. Many monks go through their day without "meditating" in a recognizable form, but are more likely to chant or participate in group liturgy. In this tradition, the purpose of meditation is to awaken the sky-like nature of mind, and to introduce practitioners to that which they really are: unchanging pure awareness, which underlies the whole of life and death.[11][12]

Meditation is the way to bring us back to ourselves, where we can really experience and taste our full being, beyond all habitual patterns. In the stillness and silence of meditation, we glimpse and return to that deep inner nature that we have so long ago lost sight of amid the business and distraction of our minds. The gift of learning to meditate is the greatest gift you can give yourself in this life. For it is only through meditation that you can undertake the journey to discover your true nature, and so find the stability and confidence you will need to live, and die, well. Meditation is the road to enlightenment.- Sogyal Rinpoche, The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying[11]

Most Buddhist traditions recognize that the path to Enlightenment entails three types of training: virtue (sīla); meditation (citta); and, wisdom (paññā).[13] Thus, meditative prowess alone is not sufficient; it is but one part of the path. In other words, in Buddhism, in tandem with mental cultivation, ethical development and wise understanding are also necessary for the attainment of the highest goal.[14]

  • Dear Global Friends,

This is the correct way of meditation. It is also called " Natural Non-Action "

meditation. But it must be followed by purification of one's inner and outer-selves

in moral values. Moral practices and meditation must go together. They are inseparable. One is without the other.

Note:- Please listen to the instructions over and over again very carefully and practise without fear.

  • Dear Global Friends, In fact the daily moral practices and the "natural non-action" meditation help to balance our soul, body and mind to gain strong pure light energy or "Enlightenment" as to bring us back to our once lost HOME, called Eternity where our eternal life exist without any more reincarnation in any forms.Believe it or not, leaves it to one's faith, diligence, sincerity and wisdom. No one can help you, only your own faithful willingness.Thank you for the sharing.

  • Dear Global Friends, If one has doubt or fear or WITHOUT knowing what is daily moral cultivation, please do not try this type of meditation. It is called calmness and stillness meditation or in other words, "natural non-action meditation" Many people become crazy or mad while doing meditation is because they do not have a basic daily moral cultivationThey harbour bad habits or sinful deeds and attach too strongly to these worldly illusive desiresTry to let go of these immoral thoughts and habits.

  • @ImCalebRosengard Dear Friend, If I can reach the highest stage in meditation, you won't believe me. If I cannot reach you may criticise me. But if you cannot achieve you also blame me.This is human's weak points of unstability. Do not compare with the mundane world knowledge. If you have fear and doubt, it is advisable not to practise. You may harm yourself rather than good.Thank you for the sharing.

  • @sagarmahen Dear Friend, you may get from youtube, just type "yuivy" in the search box and click, ( 靈性的實相(探討靜坐與靜坐的體驗) No doubt it is written in Chinese but the audio spoken is in International ( English ) language. It is a complete set from beginning to end. It is a natural non-action without any attachment of tangible nor intangible issues in our mind. But meditation must go with daily moral cultivation. They are inseparable. One must without the other.Thank you for the sharing.

  • @humbleforest Dear friend, if you have full video can you forward me pls
