The reason this movie has endured for 60 years is because its essential truth endures: we can never really know for sure who's got our back. Sooner or later most of us find ourselves in a position, to one degree or another, where we realize that everybody else has troubles too, and we're just going to have to figure things out for ourselves. Also, sooner or later most of us get thrown under the bus, and sometimes by the ones we trusted the most (although there are no buses in "High Noon" :-)

Katy Jurado was a great actress. Liked her in One Eyed Jacks too. Story is John Wayne discovered her at a Bullfight. She was married to Ernest Borgnine for many years. They don't make them like that anymore. Mike. (70 y.o.)
