When I see this, it reminds me of when I was at my grandfather's house back in 1977. One of these dot videos came on, and my grandfather said "25 squares!" Perhaps he was too far from the screen to see that they were dots and not squares and that there were 30 of them.

I woke up this morning singing this song, but I couldn't remember what the skit was. I knew it was Sesame Street, but damned if I could remember what it went with. I can't believe I found it!! And I started at the right pitch too. What a great way to learn the chromatic scale down--much better than learning Ives' "The Cage"

moltar, that was awesome

@mstatz I remember that one. No one hasn't found it yet?

This was before the great revolution of the dots LOL

The music sounds like some warmup played in band class.

I'll bet this "basic" 30 dots clip was the very 1st. After this, all the dots began to rebel.

That initial drum roll ... it was sometimes there, sometimes not. Was it part of all the "30 dots" segments?
-
No, it's a real segment. There was a first one where the squares come up from the bottom, driving the dots away, then the one you're thinking of. That's where the squares turn red and cooperate with the dots so both can full the screen. Finally squares and dots both have this grand crescendo as they show off.
Hope someone can post that!

Love the opening drum roll, kind of makes my tummy drop haha and where are all the other dots? They used to be here

Wow, the dots are yellow! I used to watch this on a black & white tv. Glad Sesame Street didn't teach about colors or I would have been very confused.
I will pay someone who comes up with the circles being driven off by squares segment - the one with the huge crescendo / fanfare. Let me know if anyone has that segment.

I don't remember that one. Did someone dream that one up in the mid to late 90's, after I stopped watching the show?
