Santorini eruption: the onset (the first biblical plague of Egypt)

[Youtube] We are told the biblical plagues of Egypt are the work of fiction.
How come each plague - in the order provided in the biblical text - can be traced back to a historical event?. How come scores of ancient records support this scenario?
Looks like German tv station ZDF and National Geographic in their documentary (you'' find me both in the German and English language version) prefer dodge the questions and stick to the academic view that the Bible is a work of fiction.
Here is a brief reconstruction of the first plague (red Nile, dead fish, undrinkable water). The other plagues are in the next videos.
Once you check out some of the facts presented, you can then - I think - be in a better position to say whose work is fiction.
