Thanks for all of your videos! They are very informative. But Im having a hard time figuring how big to make the hats. I use a slightly different method than you do. I start with a flat circle of increase rows and then do the sides. How do i know how big to make that first flat circle? Please help!!

Sounds like you are working with the "trial and error" method. You will stop increasing and let the sides form at some point. That is the only way that you will know the size of the hat. If it is not the size you are looking for, you will rip back and add more increase rounds to make a larger hat.

I'm going to save this vid and try it when I'm uninterrupted. I haven't found any instructionals that I've understood; I'm a knitter and looking pretty dumb at learning to crochet. I hope I can understand what I'm doing here. If I actually GET this, I will be sure to post!! and recommend.

Written instructions can be confusing. I do have written to go along with the video.

I don't have a clue on how to read patterns or acronyms; I do much better when someone speaks very slowly and I can follow along. Preferably, I need someone right beside me to correct as I go along. I learn quick but not generally through instructionals. Still waiting for time uninterrupted! Hmm....

I sent you the beginner crochet stitches. It may be helpful to become familiar with some of the basic stitches before trying an actual pattern.
