Legislature Votes to Extend Opportunity Zones in Niagara Falls

Niagara County Legislator Vincent M. Sandonato, R-LaSalle, and Majority Leader Rick Updegrove, R-Lockport, who also chairs the Legislature's Economic Development Committee, introduce a unanimously-passed resolution that allows the City of Niagara Falls to expand its Opportunity Zone to include the LaSalle portion of the city. Under the Opportunity Zone Program, most businesses locating in or already operating within the boundaries of the zone, or adjacent to it, are eligible for payment-in-lieu-of-taxes (PILOT) programs and other incentives in exchange for the creation of jobs.
