  • @Donatello97 lol thanks for the "review" and your concern, this should help out a lot of people that have questions. As for me, this is my first HDTV so its a big step up for me. I don't know much about TV's so I don't notice all the small differences you mentioned, so for me this is a great TV and I will take it anyday over SD, but that's just my opinion. Also the games I do play on it happen to be 1080p so it actually works out quite well lol.

Anyways, this Sammy looks great when set in Dynamic mode, it gives the PQ and color more of a pop, although overall the screen 'could' be a bit more bright. Bluray movies also look crappy, soft and blurry on this set and a smidge washed out for some reason. Use it has a computer Monitor only, that's my advice.

Sry for the wall of text haha. ;p

I went back and fourth with the two several times. Mega Man controlled super zippity, quick and perfectly precise on my CRT as it should. But on the Sammy, it felt like Mega Man had this added weight to him, the jumping was not even as quick, it was actually kind of sluggish and completely hampered the experience. It might not bug some people, but for hardcore retro gamers, it would be incredibly annoying. And I'm pretty sure Game mode hardly made a difference.

And as for Lag, oh it's there. I've been playing Nintendo and what have you since the 80's back in the NES era and I 'still' game on a CRT because I can't stand even the slightest amount of lag. I tested this set out with my PS3 using an HDMI to DVI connection and played several titles and compared them to playing them on my CRT. I even had Mega Man 9 running on my PS3 on the Sammy, along with MM9 on my Wii set on my CRT. The lag was noticable on the PS3 right off the bat...

Uh ohhh. Word of advice, this monitor is horrible for gaming. As everybody knows monitors have terrible scalers in them, and PS3/360 games are 720p for the most part. Now everything '1080p' on this set looks crystal clear and beautiful. But when you stick in a 720p game the graphics looks blown up to hell, fuzzy and blurry. My 480i CRT using component cables looked more clear than the image I got on this set and of course had superior motion, color and blacks. As for lag....

  • @vardenafil4u i dont think so
