Frank, Liza & Sammy - The Ultimate Event at Worcester Centrum 10/15/88

In a former life, my company Video/Visuals, was often the go-to for large-screen events in New England - so when our customer, Mitchell called on a Thursday to see if we could provide I-Mag for the two weekend shows of the rescheduled 'The Ultimate Event', by Saturday we had set up four cameras switched to four 15 x 20' screens flown in a box above the center stage at the Worcester Centrum. Not a lot of extra time to pull the crew together, much less rehearse - so we set up one camera in each corner and went with the flow.
Some, but not many great performers are also wonderful people. Both Liza Minelli and Sammy Davis Jr. were warm and considerate people to work with, and made the experience so fulfilling. For me, a bigger rush than directing the video and providing the service on short notice was the sensation I got as i was pulling a couple of cables through the orchestra during rehearsal on Saturday afternoon as they were going though the numbers - wow - when a really good band 'hits it', and you're right in the middle of the sound, it's a one of a kind moment.

now - we were called up as a local, low-cost fill-in to fulfill the contract between the promoter, Frank J. Russo and the tour - (other than reposting with brighter dark levels in the video) - how do the concerts compare ??

I saw them in Philly at the Spectrum same year, Sammy's last tour

We're patient! We're all waiting patiently! But yes! I too would love to see more of this wonderful footage. Please sir. Now days on TV all we get is crap - I would give my right arm to see this concert. Like the other poster I have seen the Detroit and Japan versions too - This looks extra special! Please consider posting more soon!
