I don't have one myself, but I can imagine that either low or auto with low-cut on should be good. As for placement, have it in front of everyone as to avoid having one sound overpower the other.
PLEASE HELP. I just bought a Q3. Could someone private message me the best audio setting(s) highly recommended for band practice sessions and live gigs. Harder bands, metal, hard hitting drums, etc. I'm trying to record on the audio/video setting. What would be best for mic gain L/H/Auto, low-cut on/off. Does placement in the room matter. I've seen videos of the Q3 next to drums and the audio doesn't pop, peak, etc. Basically, what are the overall best settings combined. Thanks in advance.
@jeffkdrums I kow what you mean man I am starting to feel the same way with these cameras. Its true that there is no real distortion to the audio but that is because everything is so massively compressed that some sounds like guitars and bass are almost none existant and things like the drums are really dead and muffled. it makes eveything sound dead and lifeless and really takes that "awesome" out of the live sounds of bands and to top it off the picture is really poor for the price.
Is this really the best in terms of these "Pocket Video Recorders"? I'm really not that impressed with the sound. The video looks nice and clear, but the sound is not what I expected. Maybe I was expecting way to much for the little money these cost. Wasn't familiar with Shadows Fall music, but I thought it was excellent.
my god, they're playing this song so fast. haha

Nice color saturation and image definition, but seems to lack stabilization... not a problem if you are in the mosh pit anyway!
Sound is cool, no clipping or distortion at Shadow Fall's volume (it is not processed, right?
