The car suprised me, I didn't think it would make it but it did, and didn't even struggle with it.

This video was taken on the 12 of july, 2008.

This is in Húnaver, Iceland. There was an group gathering of Land Rover owners because Land Rover is 60 years old this year and the Icelandic Land Rover club is 5 years old. ( www.islandrover.is )

  • I think the squeeking is the brakes not the suspension, but who knows.

  • The squeeking is the brake caliper (brembo brakes) and the creeking is the locking differentials. All completely normal. I have a range rover sport and they crawl over obstacles with incredible smoothness.

  • The brake pads make that sound, the grip on the brake disk is very high .

  • shame you did it like a pussy

  • bah.. I can do that with my Mini...

  • Please tell me the squeeking isn't the car!

  • well of its going to have slightly more articulation will the solid axle, but i guess the tc evens it the score out,ps i though you only bought land cruiers!

  • At a local 4x4 meeting this morning a fellow had a 07HSE with a roof rack and winch plate I brought out my 07LX470 and we put them one one of the Jeep guys RTI ramps. with the front wheels the score was 700 on the rover and 710 on the LX, and we did the rear and the rover got 680 and the LX got 740, BUT I will give the rover credit for not alot of slippage...it really wanted to keep going even after the tire started to lift, same in the LX but the rovers TC is more smooth and not as "jumpy"

  • i was comparing it to the gx because there both midsized suvs, along with the european land cruiser(mid sized one). But ive seen a video on youtube where they did the same hill with both the lexus lx 470 and the full sized range rover and the articulation was almost identilcal, though the on the lexus the weels sliped more, and they couldn't go up the same way as the rr,though they might not of had the tration control on.

  • I agree however the GX isnt a Land Cruiser and its not to be mistaken as one...its not at all.

Yes the suspension is IFS in front and SA in rear in the US. cruisers flex well and the solid axle in the back is what helps alot because of the "lean" to the front, the rear does the heavy work therefore the front doesnt have to do as much, therfore Toyota can get away with putting IFS in the front
