@ryanpet266 You know, I looked on [Dictionary] site and it said the definition for anime is:

"Japanese-style cartoon...", but not says: "Japanese-style animation".

That's also the reason why I only use [Dictionary] site for spelling check.

I must note that anime is a cartoon.

Though even a flip-book can be a animation, or Anything that's animated. Since cartoons are animated then its not surprising that cartoons are animation. The word "Animation" is vague in this case.
