The metronome is 144, he played about 138. Therefore, it is very close. Basically, there is not so much different. Why people complain about the tempo.

One of the most useful etudes, but man you people crack me up. If this version was played by any other pianist besides Pollini like this you would all be flaming them for not playing it in the written tempo.
