Orion 05.501 #580 was on the Q44 LIMITED approaching the East Tremont Av in West Farms Square, The Bronx and was heading towards Merrick Blvd in Jamaica, Queens.
This route was suppose to have articulated buses on it BUT that never happened as the order of 65 New Flyer D60HF was going to become New Flyer D60"LF"s. The MTA obviously did not want them so that's why those buses are on the Q44 today!
which more queens routes and brooklyn routes was going to have articulated buses?

Detroit Diesel Series 50 DDEC, Allison B400R4 ATEC. Also none of the 4xx, 5xx, or 6xx have DD50 EGRs except 416 and 444.

580 is the lastly delivered bus of the 1995 Orion 05.501 Transit diesel order (402-580). Never seen it in person. Good shot.

Here in DC our routes letters aren't just restricted to Q, B, X, M, and S. We have every letter except for I and O.
From J13 to C29 to Y9 to 15K. There is a whole lot more but I'm not naming them all. Over 330 routes. Most of them in Virginia.

I like Q44 because it 24 hours service, always on time, very high frequently, and all day Limited serviece even weekends! Q44 is more scentic because it drives over the bridge and beautiful view and very convient between 2 bouroughs!
