the guy in the miata take the corners too slowly and obviously doesnt know what is an apex
-
The Miata needs a driver upgrade if he's losing to an Insight in the corners.
-
this deustch bag has a vid of him keeping up with a corvette.....
-
man i would push that miata so much harder..there is no reason to corner that slowly in miata..unless there are some freaky track rules
-
why would you want to track that car..lol..

Thats too funny, a Honda Insight vs a weak 1.6L Miata with a driver that can't drive. I'm very bored now.

The miatas lines are bad. But the insight is still one hell of a car. Gotta give it to honda for continuing the model even though people fail to recognize its potential.

wow that Porsche really sets things in perspective lol.
-
the guy in the mx-5 line's don't look that good.

Feeling the need to defend the Miata a bit (lol), my own vid shows I did a 2:25 in my Miata as well, but from a standing start.
Anyway, great vid. Cheers! =)
I've always wondered, how long does the battery last when you're on the track? I'm guessing there's a big hit on acceleration once the juice runs out. And wow, it only weights 1900lbs!

My battery was already old so it lasted about 3 hot laps before it drained completely.
Then the car feels down on power and lap times are about 2 seconds slower.

I just looked at my video again and by writing down the video time at which I cross the start finish line twice I calculated my lap time was 2:25
1 second faster then another video I saw of an S2000 lapping the same track... LOL

really really smooth driving...r u using stock suspension?
blkmk4 4 years ago
Suspension is stock expect I added a custom modified rear torsion bar made by Shine designed for VW Golfs. Because nobody makes performance parts for Insights.

Great driving on both driver's parts. I know Shannonville well and it is quite fun. What size tires are you running all around on the Insight? Do you still run the low rolling resistance ones when not racing?

In this video the Insight was on 2 year old 185/60R13 Toyo RA1 tires. On the street I used 195/55R14 Toyo T1S summer tires and 175/70R13 Toyo GO2+ winter tires. For competition I used 195/55R14 Kumho V710 R-compound tires.
