SOUTHEASTERN DONA ANA COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL NEW MEXICO...
THIS INCLUDES THE CITY OF CHAPARRAL...
CENTRAL EL PASO COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST TEXAS...
THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF...EL PASO...FORT BLISS

* UNTIL 815 PM MDT

* AT 719 PM MDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING PENNY SIZE HAIL...AND
DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH. THIS STORM WAS LOCATED OVER
FAR NORTHEAST EL PASO...AND MOVING WEST AT 18 MPH.

* LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE NORTHEAST...CENTRAL...AND DOWNTOWN EL
PASO.

THIS WARNING ALSO INCLUDES TRANS MOUNTAIN PASS.

THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM. IF YOU ARE IN ITS PATH...PREPARE

you western ppl are not familiar with the eas system or emergency alert system it is utilized when there is an impending danger of severe weather I.e severe thunder storm warnings tornado warnings wich are not common in the far west states. the voice you are hearing is an automated voice from the national weather service office in your local area,the emergency alert system is for severe weather. but not limited to earthquakes,volcanic eruptions....etc

thats mostly true and sometimes In the western states (mostly the desert) there are 1 to 3 tornados during the monsoon season in especially in the outter city limits of El Paso,Pheonix,Albuqurque,& Tucson
